To the South Toe Elementary School Community:

Welcome back, Wildcats!  Hopefully, you spent most of your summer break outdoors in the beautiful sunshine.   I hope you are energized and ready to begin a new school year.  You are part of a small, but fierce, learning community.  We welcome your positive energies & vibes, and your dedication to educational excellence.  I thoroughly enjoy working with you and our student Wildcats.  This is going to be an incredible year.  Our talented faculty and staff have worked hard in preparing an environment conducive to learning.  I encourage everyone to be patient, kind and forgiving, as we navigate a pathway forward.  We are a family and our Wildcat family is better together.  When you arrive at school in the a.m., say ‘Good Morning!’

Below is an excerpt from one of my favorite fantasy novels, The Hobbit:

“Good Morning!” said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out further than the brim of his shady hat.

"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?"

"All of them at once," said Bilbo.

In the early hours of a new school year, I wish you a ‘good morning!’
