Welcome to South Toe Elementary School
Welcome to our South Toe Elementary Family
Dr. Brent Laws - Principal
Summer Food ProgramRegistration is now open for the 2022 Summer Food Program. This program provides home deliveries over the summer of fresh produce, pantry staples, hygiene products, and community resources to families who benefit from free or reduced breakfast and lunch for their children at school and Head Start. The program is a partnership of Partners Aligned Toward Health, Reconciliation House, TRACTOR Food and Farms, Dig In Community Garden, Yancey Schools, Yancey DSS, Yancey Public Library, Yancey Transportation Authority, and many other volunteers and organizations. Families will receive 6 total deliveries - every other week while schools are on break. Requirements for enrollment:The household must be located in Yancey County and have children in the house over the summer - any age, from infant to 17 years old. This means that if a family member is primarily responsible for feeding children in their home over the summer, you are welcome to enroll them. Please do not sign up the same children twice. Separated households need to be in agreement about where the food will be delivered to. We do not have strict income eligibility or need guidelines. Registration:The easiest way to register is to complete the online form at the bottom of this document - with both English and Spanish text. This is a different program from school meals, Harvest Share, Reconciliation House's food pantry, and other local programs. If an online registration is not possible or not easy, please complete the paper registration form that each child will be bringing home in the next few days. Please do not do both. Choose either online registration or paper registration. Return the paper registration forms to your child’s teacher. The closing date for registration is Tuesday May 17th. Thank you.

Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are excited to announce that Health-e-Schools telehealth services are available for your child either at school or in the virtual/remote learning environment. We are available during regular school hours to meet your healthcare needs via telehealth. If your child is at school, your school nurse has been trained to work with our healthcare providers online, via safe and secure computer equipment. Or, if learning at home, your child can be seen via video using your smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera.
How do I request an appointment or talk with a Health-e-Schools nurse?
If you need to be seen at home - email firstname.lastname@example.org with your information including name, date of birth and a good contact number for someone to call you.
